Small Granny Squares...

In my last post you saw how I was trying my hand at a granny square for a bunting.

And, it was Way To Big.

So, after some thought about how I could re-work it, I'm pretty happy with the results so far. They are approximately 3 inches square and made with cotton yarn. I wanted them to look like something my Nana would have made - lots of colors.

I will post more pictures when they are finished and hung up.

  2. Oh those are lovely. I'm new to crocheting and tried to make my first granny square this morning. May I ask how you got yours to be that size? Was it your hook size? How many chains you started with?

    1. Hi Jen, I worked up the granny squares with half double crochet and only made two stitches, instead of three, in each opening. I started with a magic ring for the center, used Lily Sugar and Cream cotton yarn and used a size 5.5 hook.
